There are Some Mistakes the Presenters Often Do
Get success in your career, have a good presentation when you act as a presenter is essential. Many presenters never recognize what thing they should not to do while they are presenting. If a presentation is a part of your jobs, here are some mistakes you should to avoid for get successful in your presentation. In addition, after know what the wrong things you are often do during your presentation, there are the ways to correct your mistakes stated here.
· Standing Far Away From Your Audience
Do your stand as far away from the audience as possible? Or do you hide behind your PowerPoint slides? These are something you may not be aware of it. You need to stand center to connect more with your audience and have a greater impact. As you are the owners of topic that are presenting now, get close to the audiences as possible without making them feel uncomfortable to keep them with you and the subject you are presenting.
· Get Yourself at the Center, Not PowerPoint
If it is possible, when PowerPoint is a part of your presentation, put the screen off to the side where it is still easy for all attendees to see as this allows you have greater impact. You are the presenter, not your slides. Then, put yourself center stage.
· Turn Off the Lights
Do you put your audience in the dark? Darkness is available for people to drowse when the topic is boring to them. If you want to keep your audience alert and to have greater impact, open the curtains or shades and keep the lights on when you are in front of the room. When it is a time of PowerPoint, just only dim the lights or close the shades to the point where your PowerPoint is visible and easy to see for the audiences.
· Too Much On Talking about Your Company
Although it is necessary to introduce yourself and your company you work for, but it should not come in overmuch. You must recognize that people do not want to know too much about the history of your company. What they want to know is what you can do for them, not what are you so great at doing.
· Lack of Emotion While Presenting
How about your emotion while speaking? Do you speak with expressively words? What action of you when speaking? Do you know message is communicated through vocal tone and body language? Effective presentation usually occur when the presenter come with emotionalism. You are only one who can build the feeling to the audience through the emotion you. So, let your emotion come through for greater impact.
· Lack of Enough Preparing
Enough preparing is very important thing for having great presentation. As you have not enough information to present or there are non equipment can use to show the graph you develop for getting easily understood about your issue, it is hard to get success on your presentation. Enough preparing will let you go on presentation with more confidence.
