Teaching Children English through the Songs

It is rather difficult to teach children English if this is not their mother language. Actually, not only children do not like to learn English, adults are too. According to this fact, it can be challenge for you to find out how you can improve English in your children. Fortunately, if you are falling down to the frustrated how you can teach your little students about English, here are quick keys to help you – the ways to teach children English by using songs.

 

1. There are many English songs you can choose to teach your children in English. But, the current popular songs are sound like the songs most children appreciate to listen and sing. So, it is good to use these songs to teach your students.

2. Try to choose songs which are easy-to-understand lyrics. Also, avoid using songs with profanity, violent, illegal or immoral themes like sex, drug use, prostitution, gang violence, kill-your-mother, suicide, etc. Keep in mind the listeners are a small child who should not to hear about unsuitable phrases and story.

3. Most popular song lyrics are available online, but if you decide to download from the sites, be careful there are no viruses, Trojans, worms, etc.

4. Where you can get the great songs created in attempt for children to listen to is Walt Disney. To have these songs created by Walt Disney associated with the movies, you can use films and shorts directly or just a recording with display pictures for visual support.

5. There are the standard children’s favorites any primary song child. Remind yourself what songs you like when childhood and use that song to teach your children.

6. To impress the English songs in mind of your students, use inter-active games and Total Physical Response (TPR) along with the songs. By this way, it is easy for children to remember the meaning of some words in songs as they need to do acting like the words said in the songs.

7. For some added benefit, you can try to incorporate some simple “dance” moves into the songs. Let your kids to have lip sync, pantomime, swing, sway kick, hop, slide, glide, whirl, spin, dip, step, jump and wave, these moves can make the children fun to learn English from songs.

8. Use pictures as an aid in teaching key words in the song lyrics. There can also be posters, drawings, and anything that provides positive visual support and reinforcement for lexical elements, grammatical them, connected speech, and pronunciation.

9. Practice a couple of the songs and activities in advance in front of a mirror on your own so you can see if it is easy for your little child to understand English via the acting.

 

Do not think a simple dance move you create associate with the songs will make you become silly looked guy. Keep in mind, you are finding out the way to teach your students English easier.
