A Weekly Lesson Plan Is Vital For New Teacher

Similarly, a plan for weekly lesson is also necessary for teaching. So, if you are a new teacher who never has experience on teaching students, it is very important task for you to develop a weekly lesson plan to go over a problem of teaching your new students. The hardest part of teaching a new class is working the ropes of classroom management. Finding the balance between lesson planning and classroom management is really difficult for many people who being a new teacher. However, as you are a new teacher, do not too much worry to manage your new class because the chances of keeping students attentive are higher when you have a more structured and appealing lesson that speaks to them.
Developing a weekly lesson plan for all the classes can ease your transition as a new teacher and you can break down the planning for different classes if you find this too much. By having lesson plan weekly, you can notice that what areas of planning need more attention and which one need less.
What should be contained in your weekly lesson plan?
Educational and learning goals and objectives: Finding out learning goals and objectives is important and helpful for the rest of the planning. You should to plan on writing an enabling skill or two. For instant, if teaching summarization is one of your goals, make sure you teach your students to take note and how to find the main idea first.
A List of activities for each part of the lesson: A regular lesson should have a beginning, middle and an end. Consider what activities are more suitable for the beginning. Is it better to let your students form a group to do activities? Then, find out what are the best activities for middle and end of the lesson.
Vary the mode of interaction: Avoid teaching all your lessons frontally. To include pair or group work is a good way to diversify the teaching. Consider which types of materials you intend on using. Try to alternating between the whiteboard and other information technologies such as power point presentation to attract your students.
Back-up plans: Back-up plan is also important for new teacher. This should not be so hard to do if you know your class reasonably well. For those unfortunately surprising moments, always have a resource back-up of materials in your bag as it is a good help for you.
Each class go on differently, so do not be using the same activities over and over again. You should to find out the different methods to run in term of teaching for each class and after you teach the lesson; it is good to make comments such as how well students coped, specific difficulties, and what was especially challenging.
