The refined sweeteners like corn syrup or high fructose corn syrup are often found in store bought salad dressings. Also, stabilizers, preservatives, artificial colorants, and more are contained in bottled salad dressings too. Of course, refined sweeteners and chemical process used to produce the products are not good for your health.
Homemade Salad Dressings Can Give You More Nutrient
As it can be made by yourself, everything that can give benefit to your health can be used in the process when you make a dressing of salad at home. When making salad dressing, there are many nutrients can add to your diet such as essential fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants which are contained in herbs, vegetables, fruits or seeds. What is recommended here is homemade salad dressings should be made from real and pure ingredients such as extra virgin olive oil, cold-pressed walnut oil, buttermilk or even the much touted canola oil that has been shown to have problems, but it contributes to vitamin E deficiency and goes rancid easily.
It is not hard to make salad dressing by yourself at home and this allows you get more nutrients as well as keep away from the bad ingredients like MSG, trans-fatty acids and refined sugars rather than buying bottled one from the grocery store.
