The Way to Train Your Parrot
It can believe that people who have a parrot as lovely pets probably want to properly interact with their parrot. Even though parrot can not acts on many activities such as sit down, running, or hold something by mouth like a dog but, parrot can talk. No bird born with ability of speaking but, it can do after long period of training.
If you buy parrot was hand fed by humans, it easy to train it to speak than a bird that was raised by its parents. Bird grow up by human take care usually familiar with human’s voice so, it easy to give training it about how to speak on human language.
However, no matter your parrot is hand fed bird or not, if you want it can be talk you need to follow the way below.
First thing you need to do with your bird is gain it’s trust. After once time you can get your bird’s trust, you need to try to keep it. Do not hit your parrot even if he does something wrong. Scold your bird by giving it the evil eye and sternly telling it “No” when it goes on misbehaves is better. Cover its cage for a while when your parrot starts screaming for no apparent reason.
You must to try to approach to your bird as slowly, place your hand in the cage and keep it there for a while. The parrot may be alarmed and run away or even attack you. You need to spend few days to try on this way for getting trust feeling from your bird. Eventually, your bird will calm down and accept you before a long time. But, if your bird still not trusts on you after long days you try to place it on your hand, using a stick for a perch instead of your hand is the other way you can try.
If the bird does not feel excite when you place your hand perch into the cage, firmly press your fingers under the bird’s belly by gently, your bird will instinctively trust on your fingers. While you do like that, tell your bird “Step up” or “Up” to let it know you want it to step to your hand or perch. When the bird staying on your hand and you want to put it down on his perch, you can teach him the down command by the word as “Down”. Keep this word every time you put the bird down.
If you by the parrot because you hear it talk once time you see it. Sure that after you pay some money to take it to your home, you expect to hear your bird talk again. Do not worry if the bird does not say anything because it may need few days to be familiar on new environment. The important thing you should to know about parrot is not all species of parrot can talk. However, most parrot species can mimic sounds it hears such as whistles and doorbells species.
The best time to train your parrot to talk is the time when it has 4-6 months old age. Start with a simple word as “Hello” by slowly and clearly and go on plenty of repetition. Make sure you teach your bird to talk in the quiet room without any distractions and after few minutes of training, give your parrot time to relax or play.
