The Processes to Breed BETTA Fish: Part II
Below are the process for breeding BETTA fish continue form the process 2 in part I
Process 3 – Put the bettas in the tank
You should to put the female betta in her blow first to allow her can take time to get use to the surroundings. Then, add the male into the main section of the breeding tank that he can see the female and should be a usual within hour and start flaring. As you allow the female to be comfort, she should respond with confidence and not be scared. The male would start to build a nest. This time you must not to bother them and keep the noise down as well as keep the surrounding light dim.
Process 4 – First signs
Within day that you allow the male and female live in the same tank, the male have a few bubbles in the nest site, and the female should be vertically barred up and dancing. If you see the female scare and at the bottom with horizontal stripes, it mean she is not ready to breed and need more time. But, if the female is ready, she will be confident and rich in color and have vertical stripes that make the male work harder to get the nest done and you should to allow her to stay in the bowl for awhile longer until the nest is done.
Process 5 – Additional signs
When the male has the nest as the way he likes, he will do a dance trying to lure the female to the nest. When you see the male doing this dance, you can see that the female is also do this acting in the same way swimming and dancing. Now is the time to release her. The female will sometimes go under the nest because she is ready but, the male may not understand then he may attack her and the female will usually either, swim away and try again later, or stick around if she is really ready. As she really ready, she will swim head down, clamped fins, and in an “S” pattern. If the male still keep attack the female, you should to put her back into the bowl before she gets really hurt. But, if the male can see an “S” pattern swimming of female, he will understand and continue building the nest in a perfect world then the female will push the male and they will wrap under the nest.
Process 6 – The actual spawning
The male and female will embrace under the nesting area and could be either stay at the top or fall to the bottom. Before the male and female can get the right wraps and eggs fall, many bad wraps can happen. If it success, both of them will be stunned for a few seconds. After that, the male is the first one will recover and usually go down and get the eggs using his mouth while the female will usually help pick up the eggs. After they are finished, the male will chase the female away and take caring the eggs only one. This time you must to remove the female from the tank.
After complete the breeding betta, the next thing that is also important is the after care of the bettas as the breeding itself.
