Leadership always comes with huge duty and responsibility. If you are leader of many people in organization, you could not control and make them respect on you if you are being leadership without quality. Showing leadership qualities would help you by encouraging your employees to do their work and to follow your example. There are too many different leadership qualities include responsibility, respect, dedication, integrity, innovativeness, honesty, wisdom, dedication, persistence, optimism, independence, individuality, courage, flexibility, teamwork, credibility, loyalty, fairness, competency, inspiration, etc. And because of these, it is necessary to find out which are the leadership qualities that are the most important for you. You may have some questions, during your leadership time, such as is one quality more relevant than the others? No matter who you are, should there be a specific order? Does it depend on your personality which leadership qualities you appreciate more? And does the leadership quality which would most benefit your employees depend on each specific situation? However, here we will focus on some of those qualities by starting with integrity.
Your level of integrity is the level of congruence between your idealistic personal qualities and the practical reality of your own life. In modern business life, somebody who has integrity is somebody who is incorruptible, and who is believed to have constant positive personal qualities. This mean living with integrity means to have many of the other leadership qualities, and not to let anybody argue oneself out of it. Since it conveys that one has many other qualities to offer, integrity can be considered as the most important leadership quality. Therefore, a boss leading his employees without integrity might be corruptible, or just not living up to his own values. Obviously, such a boss would not be a good role model for his employees.
There are also two other leadership qualities that are very important - respect and fairness. When your employees are realized that you will be fair to them and treat them with respect whatever mistake they might make, it will be much easier for them to approach you and talk to you about issues and then your relations with your people will be improved, so you will know instantly what is really going on in your business.
Dedication and persistence are another quality that should be mentioned too. Your employees will watch you and imitate your attitude if they are realized that you are the boss dedicate yourself to your work and follow your goals with persistence. They will dedicate themselves to their work, and not give up until it is finished as you have done. But in order to give your employees a vision that will help them to work with dedication and persistence towards your business’ goals, inspiration is required. Innovation, optimism, and responsibility are additional core values that will support your leadership and business growth.
This list will reveal much about who you are and how you treat others. Next time if you have a conflict with a boss, employee, or co-worker, check your list to find out which qualities might have been neglected.
