Because technology today allow communication come to us on many ways from cell phones, pagers, instant messages, voice mail, email through video conferencing, so we can connect to others people and any other ones can find us anywhere we stay at all time too. Though these methods of communication are quite productive in many different ways and can assist us with numerous areas of our life but, when they come too much on a day, they can make us feel tired to read and reply also worse much time of our life per day to deal with them.

 

Communication overload is occur when we receives too many types of communications from too many different sources. It like when we experience the issue of heightened sensitivity. We should to know that this particular condition can bring physical and psychological symptoms associated with it may come as even more of a surprise. The studies let we know that there are actually a few distinct symptoms associated with this condition - communication overload that are stated as below;

 

  1. When people become bogged down by constant and frequent communication, the stress is one of the first symptoms. Though an individual all react to stress differently, however, it is agreed that as the communication is introduced to each one in a larger quantity, the stress have more likely to be experienced.
  2. Communication overload make people display rapid mood swings that may range from depression and mild irritability to complete, uncontrollable anger.
  3. People who get communication overload may experience high levels of physical and emotional fatigue.
  4. For someone in working, communication overload can lose their motivation to do anything in their jobs and also lose their overall ability to remain productive.
  5. After getting communication overload frequently, many physical symptoms and complaints may arise in many people. These symptoms include mild headaches, mild body tremors, increased blood pressure levels, sleeplessness, and even health complications that are a bit more serious in nature such as a decline in immune system of the body.

 

How to Cope With Communication Overload?

  1. If you have a device to capture messages, you should to set a certain time a day to check these messages and reply some which is necessary to do. You do not need to reply all of them as some are nothings more than just to say “hi!”
  2. It is unnecessary to see who is beeping you on phone line if it is not time that you set to have conversation with people. The way to prevent you from miss important subject come via the phone line is setting up your phone to allow people can leave message to you. 
  3. When you need to connect to internet for working, do not spend time on chatting, talking or other activities that require communicating with others unless it is important issue to talk about.
