The kayak that we are paddling today is a present day celebration of an ancient aboriginal invention. There is no date that marking the birth of kayak but it is estimated that kayaks has been first used by North America’s aborigines kayaked the Arctic over 5,000 years ago. The exact birthplace of kayak is uncertain but the history shown that the Aleutian hunters to be the original users of these kind of boats. Kayak was introduced as recreational equipment at the middle of nineteenth century and the introduction came in the form of boat called “the Rob Roy”. Start from that, the evolution of kayak has continued steadily and the popularity of this sport has grown exponentially as kayak being designs have become increasingly advanced.
