What Thing to Think Of If You Like to Write Short Stories Online?
While some love to spend time alone with their favorite tale or novel, there are some who like to tell other their own story by writing short story online. This is way to express themselves if they have wrote the story of their own, and explore their creativity if there are story created like a tale. Writing short stories is a genre in its own right and varies a lot from the other styles of writing. Short stories, like each specific style of writing have certain features that need to be kept in mind. Let’s look at these requirements in this article.
When you write your story online, no matter what type of story, a word count is essential. However, do not focus too much on it. Pay much attention on word count may stunt the story and your natural style of writing. Just consider the word count only when you have finished the first draft and you are starting to edit it.
The second thing to talk to when focusing on writing story online is about characters, especially when you create story like a novel. Instead of having many characters for your online story, try to have only a few characters include only those characters that are most relevant to the story. Story with few characters will allow you to be able to do more justice to their characterization. At the same time, avoid giving too much background information on these characters. Only provide information that is crucial to the development of the story is enough to run your story until the end.
Do not have the luxury of using too many descriptive words when you write your own stories online. What may start as a short story may well end up as a novella when you are not careful about the amount of description and embellishment that goes into the story.
Think that you have very little room to deviate from the main plot of the story when you write story online, so your short story should be crisp and fast paced. The events that follow through the course of the story should only include ones that are essential to the progress of the story. Keep in mind; you are writing short story, not a novel which allows you have more pages to end up the story.
Do not spend too much time to build up the story that would be a waste of time and words, but get straight to the point. You need to get rid of the fluff since there is a word limit. If you put too many words into the introduction and you have only a few left for the climax, it could ruin the effect of the story and this will decrease the fun and interesting on your story.
