Improper Person Reference
There is a problem of writing in the wrong perspectives at some point or another that many people often do, especially a student. This is a very common problem can be raised with a little bit of understanding of the writers. While the two most common perspectives of essays writing are the first and third person, some are try to declare the second person perspective that typically is not required for most high school, college, or other academic papers, unless otherwise specified. The third person perspective is used in most cases when it applies to everybody and not any one person specifically. On the other hand, first person refers to the author or the person writing the paper. Regularly, we can see the first person perspective from the writer’s point of view in opinion or evaluation papers. So, make sure there is not improper person reference in your essay writing.
Run On and Fragments Sentences
Many writers usually find themselves either with a long winded sentence or one which is not a complete idea. Not only the beginners, but this is common problem can be found in essay writing of a professional writers. It is typically that persons will either have trouble with one or the other, but in some cases the problem is both issues. To correct before turning in the essay, spell check will catch fragments and run on sentences for the writers. It is not difficult to spot running on sentences as they are two independent sentences sandwiched together, so they can be corrected by adding punctuation, and therefore separating the sentences. On the other hand, it is vital to express a freestanding idea in the sentence when it comes to fragment sentences. Here are examples for run on and fragment sentences.
Run on sentences: “Peter loves to color he is a talented artist.” This sentence would sound better if it were broken down into two sentences as “Peter loves to color.” “He is talented artist.” The original one crams two complete thoughts together.
Fragment sentences: “Like a dog, cat, and rabbit.” To make sense, this sentence can not stand alone. What about dog, cat and rabbit? There is unclear and incomplete sentence. The sentence would be better if it wrote as “Like a dog, cat, and rabbit, monkey is also animal people need to treat it as well when it is adopted as their pet.”
Not Proofreading
Proof reading is necessary or writing essays. It take just a few minutes to read entirely your essay so that you can sure they are complete thoughts, have the correct words and make sense in your writing. It is good idea to ask someone else to read over the paper or proof it as well because the author understands the concept, but sometimes the readers may not be able to understand.
